Milan-based Antonio Citterio is known internationally for his product designs for Vitra and Kartell. This book presents an overview of Citterio's architecture, as well as an analysis of his product designs. Included are well-known pieces like his office chair for Vitra and his concept for the interior of a sports car, which was never realized.

Alberto Bassi is a historian and critic of industrial design. He teaches the history of design at the Department of Design and Arts of the IUAV in Venice. He carries out research at public and private institutions for publications and for permanent and temporary exhibitions, and has supervised the organization of many design and business archives. He has written for such magazines as Casabella and Auto & Design, and has authored the books Giuseppe Pagano designer (with L. Castagno), Le macchine volanti di Corradino D'Ascanio (with M. Mulazzani), and Italian Lighting Design 1945-2000.
